Description
The Canadian Rockies is a mountain range in Canada that spans British Columbia and Alberta and includes snow-capped mountains, alpine lakes, rivers, waterfalls, glaciers and a number of National Parks such as Banff, Jasper, and Yoho. It offers stunning scenery and huge tracts of wilderness to explore.
In September 2019 we did a circular road trip around the Canadian Rocky Mountains starting and finishing at Calgary covering a total of around 2,000 km in 14 days. The trip was planned to cover all the key points of interest in each location with accommodation arranged accordingly. Given the remoteness of this region and the limited (and somewhat pricey) accommodation it was a logistical problem to juggle all these issue to come up with a final itinerary.
This circular trip around the Rockies provided a great insight into this incredible wilderness area of outstanding scenery with stunning mountains, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, forests, glaciers and all the associated wildlife. The national parks were outstanding and very well organised with well marked trails for some fabulous walks and knowledgeable rangers to assist you.
This book should hopefully provide some great introductory material for anyone considering a tour of the Canadian Rocky Mountains to help in planning your trip. The photos should offer some great insight into what to expect and perhaps give you the inspiration to visit this outstanding wilderness area.
This book includes photographs, videos and route maps.
